Guess Who Americans Blame For The Failure In Afghanistan?

President Joe Biden saw his job approval rating take a massive nose-dive after he allowed the Taliban to seize control of Afghanistan, leaving countless Americans and American allies trapped in territories now controlled by the terrorists.

According to a survey conducted by The Daily Wire, Biden took a five-point hit amid the chaotic situation in Afghanistan.

The poll pegged Biden’s job approval rating at 47%, just two points higher than his disapproval rating. In mid-July, Biden was averaging a job approval rating of 52% with 43% disapproving, according to RealClearPolitics. Biden’s nine-point advantage has shrunk to just two points in a matter of weeks.

A closer look at Americans’ views on Biden’s performance across major issues underscores his declining popularity with negative ratings on foreign policy, immigration, and crime.

Biden is treading slightly ahead, but within the margin of error, on the economy and receives positive ratings on his management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Support among Americans for Biden’s pull out of Afghanistan has plummeted. In April, a Hill-HarrisX poll found that 73% of Americans backed Joe Biden’s plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan and 27% opposed it. The Daily Wire poll taken this week shows a nearly 30-point drop in support for Biden’s pullout with just 45% of Americans backing the decision and 39% opposing it.

The April Hill-HarrisX poll showed that a majority of members from all parties supported Biden’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, with 90% of Democrats, 75% of Independents, and 54% Republicans backing it. Biden’s approval rating has plummeted across the board since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, however.

Democrats still show the strongest amount of support for Biden’s decision at 66% for and 22% opposed. Republicans show the strongest disapproval with 61% opposed and 28% against it. Support for Biden’s decision to pull troops out of Afghanistan has cratered by 35 points since April with just 40% now backing his decision, according to The Daily Wire’s poll.

Another new poll from The Daily Wire uncovered that Americans hold Joe Biden responsible for the Taliban takeover – not former President Donald Trump despite many attempts by Joe and his fellow Dems to blame the former president.

According to the poll, 36% of American’s believe that Biden is responsible for the current crisis in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, 21% fault Donald Trump. 29% of Americans say it’s neither Trump nor Biden’s fault.

According to the poll, which surveyed 1,066 Americans, independents are twice as likely to blame Biden than Trump for the debacle.

In light of the Afghan government’s downfall, Biden attempted to blame Trump for allegedly leaving him with a bad deal that forced the current administration to remove troops.

During a national address, Biden pretended to take full responsibility for his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan while simultaneously claiming that Trump’s negotiations forced him into pulling U.S. military support for the Afghan government.

“When I came into office, I inherited a deal that President Trump negotiated with the Taliban. Under his agreement, U.S. forces would be out of Afghanistan by May 1, 2021 – just a little over three months after I took office,” Biden said.

“U.S. forces had already drawn down during the Trump administration from roughly 15,500 American forces to 2,500 troops in [the] country, and the Taliban was at its strongest militarily since 2001.”

A few days later, Biden told ABC News’s George Stephanopolous that he would have withdrawn troops regardless of Trump’s deal.

“So would you have withdrawn troops like this even if President Trump had not made that deal with the Taliban?” Stephanopolous asked.

“I would’ve tried to figure out how to withdraw those troops, yes, because look, George. There is no good time to leave Afghanistan. Fifteen years ago would’ve been a problem, 15 years from now. The basic choice is am I gonna send your sons and your daughters to war in Afghanistan in perpetuity?” Biden said.

In a press statement following Biden’s address, Trump dubbed the way America left Afghanistan “grossly incompetent.”
