The Democrats have somehow revived the career of one of the most cringe pop groups in recent history.
U2, headed by the “humanitarian” singer Bono, seems to always make a triumphant return to the spotlight the very moment a global tragedy strikes. Their advantageous way of seizing horrific events to push music sales or make themselves more relevant is a page directly out of the Democrats’ book.
On Sunday, U2’s Bono and The Edge graced the Ukrainian people grappling with a military invasion with a 40-minute musical performance inside a Kiev subway station.

To think of the horror for Ukrainian people, who already have to dodge Russia’s military invasion, to be forced to endure a cringey performance by U2 as they go on their morning commute through the bombed-out subway system, is so incredibly depressing to visualize.
Bono, who is famous for his humanitarian work, told the crowd of about 100 at the Khreshchatyk subway station, “The people in Ukraine are not just fighting for your own freedom, you are fighting for all of us who love freedom. We pray that you will enjoy some of that peace soon.”
The superstar duo performed “hits” like With or Without You, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Angel of Harlem, Vertigo and Desire for a crowd of Ukrainian soldiers and residents. Those watching from the metro station-turned-bomb shelter were also serenaded with a cover of Ben E. King’s Stand by Me — although they changed the lyrics to “stand by Ukraine.”

The surprise concert earned the praise of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who tweeted a video in support of Bono’s performance, but in all reality just solidified how incredibly difficult it was to watch given the astronomical levels of cringe.

This Bono resurgence harkens back not too long ago when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recited a poem written by the Irish singer. In the poem, Bono compared Ukrainian President Zelensky to that of Saint Patrick of Ireland.
